Synonyms: HST, HST-1, HSTF-1, HBGF-4, Transforming Protein KS3, KFGF
Accession: P08620
Description:The fibroblast growth factor-4 (FGF-4) gene was identified as HST-1 gene from human stomach cancers and Kaposi’s sarcoma by a NIH3T3 transforming assay. FGF-4 has pleiotropic roles in many cell types and tissues, it is a mitogenic, angiogenic and survival factor, which is involved in cell proliferation and differentiation and in a variety of development processes.
Source: E.coli-derived human FGF-4 protein, Ser54-Leu206.
Purity: ≥90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin: < 1 EU per 1μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Predicted N terminal: Ser.
Molecular Mass: The recombinant human FGF-4 consists of 153 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 16.8 kDa.
Formulation: Supplied as sterile PBS, pH 7.4.
SDS-PAGE:
The ED50 as determined by its ability to induce apoptosis using murine balb/c 3T3 cells is less than 1 ng/ml.
Handling: Centrifuge vial prior to opening.
Do not vortex after reconstitution.
Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution: Initially reconstitute in water to 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Store at 2℃ to 8℃ for up to 1 week or prepare for extended storage.
Extended Storage: After initial reconstitution, further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein or stabilizer (e.g. 0.1% BSA). Store working aliquots at -20℃ to 80℃.
