Synonyms: M-CSF,CSF-1,Lanimostim
Accession: P09603-1
Description:Macrophage colony stimulating factor 1, also known as CSF-1 and M-CSF, is a one-way membrane protein that forms homodimers or heterodimers via disulfide bonds. M-CSF is a major regulator of macrophage survival, proliferation and differentiation. M-CSF can promote monocyte survival, monocyte transformation to macrophage and macrophage proliferation. It can also initiate and enhance the killing effect of macrophages on tumor cells and microorganisms, regulate the release of cytokines and other inflammatory regulators by macrophages, and stimulate pinocytosis.
Source: HEK293 cells-derived human M-CSF protein, Glu33-Arg255, with C-terminal His tag.
Purity: ≥90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin: < 1 EU per 1μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Predicted N terminal: Met.
Molecular Mass: The recombinant human M-CSF consists of 230 amino acids and The protein has a predicted MW of 27.08 kDa. And it migrates as 33-55 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.
Formulation: Supplied as sterile PBS, pH 7.4.
SDS-PAGE:
The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using murine NFS-60 cells is 2.0-3.6 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of >2.7 × 105 IU/mg. Fully biologically active when compared to standard.
Handling: Centrifuge vial prior to opening.
Do not vortex after reconstitution.
Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution: Initially reconstitute in water to 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Store at 2℃ to 8℃ for up to 1 week or prepare for extended storage.
Extended Storage: After initial reconstitution, further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein or stabilizer (e.g. 0.1% BSA). Store working aliquots at -20℃ to 80℃.
