Description:Human TNF-alpha protein, also known as tumor necrosis factor alpha, is a cytokine that plays a crucial role in the inflammatory response. It is produced by various immune cells such as macrophages and T-cells and is involved in the regulation of immune cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. TNF-alpha is also known to induce fever, stimulate prostaglandin and nitric oxide production, and increase vascular permeability. Dysregulation of TNF-alpha has been implicated in various diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, and psoriasis. Therapeutic strategies targeting TNF-alpha have been developed and successfully used in the treatment of these diseases.
