Synonyms: TRF,Interleukin-5
Accession: P05113-1
Description:Interleukin 5 (IL-5) is a member of the hematopoietic Th2 cytokine family and consists of 115 amino acids. Unlike other members of the cytokine family (IL-3 and GM-CSF), this glycoprotein is activated as a homologous dimer. IL-5 is secreted by Th2 cells and mast cells. Its biological activity on B cells and other cell types suggests that IL-5 is functionally important for Th2 cell activity. By binding to its receptor, IL-5 stimulates B cell growth and enhances immunoglobulin secretion. It is also a key factor in the activation of eosinophils. IL-5 has been associated with a variety of diseases, including allergic rhinitis and asthma, with substantial increases seen in circulating tissue, tracheal tissue, and a decrease in sputum eosinophils.
Source: HEK293 cells-derived human IL-5 protein, Ile20-Ser134, with His tag at the N-terminal and Fc tag at the C-terminal.
Purity: ≥90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin: < 1 EU per 1μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Predicted N terminal: Met.
Molecular Mass: The recombinant human IL-5 consists of 446 amino acids and The protein has a predicted MW of 45.33 kDa. And it migrates as 46-55 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

Bioactivity is testing.
Handling: Centrifuge vial prior to opening.
Do not vortex after reconstitution.
Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution: Initially reconstitute in water to 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Store at 2℃ to 8℃ for up to 1 week or prepare for extended storage.
Extended Storage: After initial reconstitution, further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein or stabilizer (e.g. 0.1% BSA). Store working aliquots at -20℃ to 80℃.
