Description:IL-12, or interleukin 12, is a cytokine protein that plays a key role in the immune system's response to infection and cancer. It stimulates the activation and proliferation of T cells and natural killer cells, and also stimulates the production of interferon-gamma, an important immune signaling molecule. IL-12 has been studied for its potential use in cancer immunotherapy and vaccine development.
Source: HEK293 cells-derived human IL-12 protein, IL-12A contains Arg23-Ser219, IL-12B contains Arg23-Ser328, with N-terminal His tag.
Purity: ≥90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin: < 1 EU per 1μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Predicted N terminal: Met.
Molecular Mass: The recombinant human IL-12 consists of 510 amino acids and the protein has a predicted MW of 24.5 kDa(IL-12A)&36.6kDa(IL-12B). And it migrates as 35-40 kDa(IL-12A)&40-55kDa(IL-12B) under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.
Formulation: Supplied as sterile PBS, pH 7.4.
SDS-PAGE:
The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using PHA-activated human peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) is less than 20 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of >5 × 104 IU/mg. Fully biologically active when compared to standard.
Handling: Centrifuge vial prior to opening.
Do not vortex after reconstitution.
Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution: Initially reconstitute in water to 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Store at 2℃ to 8℃ for up to 1 week or prepare for extended storage.
Extended Storage: After initial reconstitution, further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein or stabilizer (e.g. 0.1% BSA). Store working aliquots at -20℃ to 80℃.
