Synonyms: IFNG
Accession: P01579
Description:IFN-γ is the only member of the type II interferon family, which is mainly secreted by natural killer T cells, CD4 cells and CD8 cells. IFN-γ has antiviral activity and can directly inhibit viral replication. In addition, IFN-γ can also act as a strong activator of macrophages and participate in immune regulation. Abnormal expression of IFN-γ can lead to some autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
Source: HEK293 cells-derived human IFN-γ protein, Ala117-Ser269, with C-terminal His tag.
Purity: ≥90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin: < 1 EU per 1μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Predicted N terminal: Met.
Molecular Mass: The recombinant human IFN-γ consists of 160 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 17.86 kDa. And it migrates as 25-33 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.
Formulation: Supplied as sterile PBS, pH 7.4.
SDS-PAGE:
The ED50 as determined by a cytotoxicity assay using human HT-29 cells is 0.54-0.60 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1.6 × 106 IU/mg. Fully biologically active when compared to standard.
Handling: Centrifuge vial prior to opening.
Do not vortex after reconstitution.
Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution: Initially reconstitute in water to 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Store at 2℃ to 8℃ for up to 1 week or prepare for extended storage.
Extended Storage: After initial reconstitution, further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein or stabilizer (e.g. 0.1% BSA). Store working aliquots at -20℃ to 80℃.
