Synonyms: VEGFA, vascular permeability factor, vasculotropin
Accession: P15682-9
Description:Vascular endothelial growth factor 121 (VEGF121) is a protein that plays a crucial role in the growth and survival of blood vessels. It stimulates the formation of new blood vessels, a process known as angiogenesis, which is essential for normal development and tissue repair. VEGF121 has therapeutic applications for conditions such as ischemic heart disease and cancer.
Source: HEK293 cells-derived human VEGF121 protein, Ala27-Arg147, with C-terminal His tag.
Purity: ≥90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin: < 1 EU per 1μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Predicted N terminal: Met.
Molecular Mass: The recombinant human VEGF121 consists of 128 amino acids and The protein has a predicted MW of 16 kDa. And it migrates as 17-25 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.
Formulation: Supplied as sterile PBS, pH 7.4.
SDS-PAGE:
Human VEGF121, his Tag immobilized on CM5 chip can bind VEGFR2, mFc tag with an affinity constant of 4.92 x 10-12 M as determined in a SPR assay (Biacore 8K).
Handling: Centrifuge vial prior to opening.
Do not vortex after reconstitution.
Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution: Initially reconstitute in water to 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Store at 2℃ to 8℃ for up to 1 week or prepare for extended storage.
Extended Storage: After initial reconstitution, further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein or stabilizer (e.g. 0.1% BSA). Store working aliquots at -20℃ to 80℃.
